Lilly will start Kindergarten next Fall. Our public schools require students to wear uniforms, so it's really hard to be fashionable when you look like everyone else. In anticipation of Lilly's bland wardrobe next year, I plan to make the most of her preschool wardrobe this year! If you know Lilly, then you know she doesn't really like to wear clothes. When we are at home she runs around in underwear or princess costumes.
For Lilly's first day of school I found the perfect dress from Mini Boden. It has the cutest pencil print.
Her second day of school she wore a mama made outfit. I used McCall's 5419 for the shorts and the fabric is Dear Stella. The pattern for the top is Simplicty 2167 and the fabric is Dear Stella whales and Sarah Jane-Out to Sea- Anchors Away.
The first week of school was only three days (first day was on a Wednesday), so she ended the week in one of my favorite brands, Matilda Jane Clothing. She wore the apple pie lap dress, which is twirly and her favorite color!

Lilly's First Day of Preschool
On Wednesday September 4, 2013 Lilly started her first day of preschool. She is attending the four day 4's at our church preschool. So far, Lilly loves it.
We had an impromptu photo shoot before we left for school.

Once we got to school, Lilly just wanted to get to her class room. I'm glad I took a lot of pictures at home!

The Best Laid Plans
I love to sew. And most of the time my vision (for the sewing project) and the end result are very similar. I love anything chevron and I had some yellow chevron fabric from Hobby Lobby that I used for this project. I researched and googled and practiced on scraps how to line up my chevron at the seams. Unfortunately, it didn't end up as perfect as I had planned. I used McCall's pattern 6733 view B.
The chevron print of the fabric is lined up on the front and sides.
But something went wrong with the back!
This pattern calls for a zipper and I did follow those instructions and used a zipper. However, this romper is plenty roomy enough that I don't think a zipper is really required. Lilly takes it on and off without unzipping it. And just for fun, here's Coco!
